Welcome to Title I Federal Programs

Title I schools receive services from the largest federal aid to education program in existence. Title I has been in existence since 1965 and continues to level the academic playing field for children victimized by poverty. Title I funds provide services and educational programs to help students achieve.

Mission: Title I Federal Programs ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. 

Goal: To provide supplemental funds to improve achievement of all students enrolled in high needs schools by providing federal funding in the following areas to attain the district's vision and mission:

  • Additional academic programs and staff
  • After-school tutoring
  • Teachers certified in the subject area that they teach
  • Intense, ongoing professional development
  • Meaningful parental-engagement activities
  • Research-based instructional materials
  • Support for families in transition
  • Full day Pre-K programs

Federal Programs Staff Directory

  • McKinney-Vento (Homeless Education) Program is designed to provide services to address challenges children and youth in housing transition may face when enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school.

  • Migrant Education Program provides social and educational services to migratory children and families.

  • Neglected and Delinquent Programs serves as a prevention and intervention program for children and youth who are neglected, delinquent or at risk.

  • Non Public Schools provides academic services for eligible children attending private schools.

  • Parent and Family Engagement provides workshops and learning events to parents and families on ways to effectively engage in their children’s education in order for all students to achieve at the highest academic level.

  • Title I Schools and Poverty Percentage Title I Schools and Poverty Percentage are chosen using state verified data.  State Direct Certified data is the number of students/families who qualify directly for SNAP, Homeless, Migrant, Medicaid or Foster Care as verified by the state.  The school list can change slightly annually.  For more information on services provided to Title I schools, please visit Schoolwide Components.

  • Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)  Title I funds supplement the state seat time for students enrolled in Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs in our Title I schools.   Title I funds the afternoon program allowing students to have a full day program.  The state funds half day programs in all other schools who opt to participate based on student/parent need and space availability on the school campus.
