The Office of Safety takes a holistic approach on working to ensure from the time students leave their homes until the time they return, they are as safe as possible. The OCPS SafeWalk Program's goal is to enhance the safety of students commuting to and from school by foot or other non-motorized methods. 

The OCPS SafeWalk Program:

• Employs cross-functional governance model to develop strategies and provide oversight
• Utilizes data to support programmatic decision-making
• Promotes collaboration between the district, its schools, and community partners
• Uses awareness programming and training to support the program
• Integrates facilities planning and government relations into solution
