  • Be sure the spelling is correct by checking it on the Orange County Property Appraiser's site or on Yahoo/Google maps. Try slightly different spellings, one vs. two words, etc. If that does not work contact Student Enrollment.

  • Yes, as long as they are identified as the parent on the birth certificate or through a court order and their parental rights have not been revoked or restricted by court order.  You should contact the custodial parent to inform them of the request, however, without a court order, the custodial parent cannot restrict the noncustodial parent’s access to records.  If the parent cannot physically come to the school to verify their identity, they will need to submit a notarized statement to the school identifying themselves as the parent, stating the records they are requesting, and identifying the mailing address or fax to send the records to.

  • An educational guardianship may be issued for extreme circumstances such as incarcerations, hospitalization, or military deployment of the parent or legal guardians.

  • When biological parents who live at separate addresses agree whose address is used for school designation purposes.

  • Yes.

  • Yes, with an approved Academic Year Completion (AYC) transfer, for the remainder of the school year. No transportation is provided.

  • No, sibling transfers are only available if the sibling is at another school on an ESE placement.

  • No, AYC transfers are for Orange County Residents only.

  • No, they are good until the end of that grade range (K-5, K-8, 6-8, 9-12) unless they are revoked.

  • If you doubt the validity of the proof of residence you may seek additional verification. For a list of documentation, please see the verification of residence checklist under forms.

  • Revoking a Transfer (except: HOPE Scholarship, Opportunity Scholarship, McKay Scholarship, ESE Placement)

     

    Reasons: School policy are not being followed: attendance, discipline, academic performance, etc.
    Step 1: Notify/meet with parent in writing regarding your concerns with a contact to correct issue.
    Step 2: If concerns are not corrected, principal consults with Area Superintendent, then issue letter revoking student transfer to parent and copy Student Enrollment in writing when the child will be withdrawn. Sample letters are in the student enrollment handbook.

  • Yes, each new address must be verified.

  • No, it must be verified for each student at the time of enrollment.

  • Yes

  • No. You need to send them to Student Enrollment. They may qualify for a pending move transfer if they can show a definite closing date within 60 days.

  • Generally, students are placed in the grade they just completed. Further questions, work with the counselor.
