Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Upon initial start date, employee access badges are only provided access to their main work location. To request access to additional work locations, the Additional Access Request Form must be filled out and submitted to additionalaccess@ocps.net. The form must be filled out in its entirety and signed off by your supervisor.
Employees are provided with one access badge with their name and picture upon initial start date. Employees who have not been provided an access badge should consult with their work location supervisor for further information.
Employees who have lost or damaged their access badges are required to fill out the OCPS Access Control Badge Form. The form must be submitted to accessbadgerequests@ocps.net and is linked in the quick links of this page.
In some situations, vendors are provided with access badges. Employees of companies contracted with Orange County Public Schools who are expected to have contact with students, or be on a campus when students are present are required to first receive fingerprint based background checks. Please refer to Florida Statutes 1012.465 and 1012.467 for information about vendor background checks. Badges are issued after criminal history has been evaluated and a clear recommendation is made. When an approved access badge (also known as an employee ID badge) is presented to a card reader, a signal is sent to a control panel which compares the credential to a database. Based on this interface, the system will either grant or deny access based on previously approved authorizations.
